Learn how to reset your shop credentials using security questions or your 6-digit emergency PIN with built-in brute-force protection.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Access Forgot Password from Login Screen
If locked out, tap 'Forgot Password?' beneath the password field on the login screen.
Choose Recovery Method
Select between answering your 3 pre-configured security questions OR entering your secret 6-digit recovery PIN.
Option A: Answer Security Questions
Provide exact answers for all 3 questions set during onboarding. Answers are trimmed, lowercased, and verified against Argon2id hashes.
Option B: Enter 6-Digit Recovery PIN
Enter the 6-digit PIN generated and saved during initial registration. The app checks against the stored Argon2id PIN hash.
Set New Master Password
Upon successful recovery validation, enter a new strong password. Girvi derives a fresh 16-byte random salt and re-hashes with Argon2id.
Expected Outcome
Your master login password is reset securely without requiring internet connectivity or risking customer database integrity.

- Exceeding 5 failed verification attempts, which triggers a strict 30-minute security lockout window.
