Managing Loan Renewals, Capital Top-Ups, Partial Payments & Redemptions

Complete lifecycle management for active pawns: handling partial cash installments, capital top-ups, renewing maturing loans, or releasing collateral upon full settlement.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Locate Transaction in Search

Use the live instant search in the Transactions tab by customer name, phone number, or ornament description.

2

Review 'As of Today' Interest Breakdown

Open Transaction Details. Review the day-accurate calculation factoring exact calendar days elapsed since pledge creation or last renewal.

3

Record Partial Cash Payments

Tap 'Partial Payment'. Enter the cash received and allocate against accrued interest or principal reduction. A payment record is added to the ledger.

4

Execute Capital Top-Up (Optional)

If the borrower requests additional funds on the same collateral, tap 'Top Up', disburse the additional cash, and update principal automatically.

5

Renew Maturing Loan

When the customer settles accumulated interest to extend tenure, tap 'Renew Loan'. Girvi resets the start date to today while archiving the renewal record.

6

Mark Redemption or Forfeiture

When principal and interest are settled in full, tap 'Redeem' to release collateral. If the customer defaults after notice, mark 'Forfeit'. Both actions feature an instant 5-second Undo.

Expected Outcome

Transaction state is updated atomically. Shop cash flow reports reflect the collections, and a closing WhatsApp receipt is ready for the customer.

Important Points & Common Pitfalls

  • Marking a loan as 'Forfeited' instead of 'Redeemed'; both update status, but forfeiture indicates default without collateral return.
  • Renewing a loan without collecting accumulated interest first.
